Kitchen Planning Checklist: What to Prepare Before Your German Kitchen Consultation

A German kitchen is made to order, specifically for your home. That is why precision in the planning stage is everything. The more accurate and complete the information, the faster your order moves into production, with no delays and no surprises. Here is the checklist we go through with every client.
Part 1: The Space
Room measurements
Precise measurements of every wall, including ceiling height. Every inch matters, because your cabinets are made to these exact dimensions.
Room angles
Are the walls straight and the corners at 90 degrees? Many homes, especially older ones, have small deviations that are important to know in advance.
Windows
What is the height of the window sill, and how deep is the recess? This determines whether cabinets or a countertop can go under the window, and at what height.
Radiators and heating
Where are they located, how far do they protrude from the wall, and what are their height and width?
Door frames
Do any door frames protrude from the wall? Even a small projection can affect cabinet placement.
Part 2: Connections
Electricity, water and gas
Where are the connection points? Their position determines where the sink, cooktop, dishwasher and oven will go, or what needs to be moved.
Light switches and sockets
The position of switches and outlets is important for planning the backsplash, wall cabinets and lighting.
Filler panels
Are filler panels needed, for example next to walls or in corners? This is part of the precise planning that makes a kitchen look perfect.
Part 3: Your Selections
Before ordering, every detail needs to be finalized:
Cabinet door style and color
Handles: design and position, or a handleless kitchen
Cabinet body color
Toe kick color and height
Countertop thickness
Lighting: recessed LED lights in wall cabinets, shelves and grip channels
Appliances: brand and model of every appliance, so the cabinets can be planned around them
Why Finalize Everything in Advance?
The delivery time of 12 to 16 weeks is counted from the moment all details are clear and the order goes into production. That is why we invest in the planning stage and review every detail together with you, so your kitchen is made exactly as you planned and arrives on time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to measure my kitchen myself?
No. Precise measurements are part of our planning process. If you have plans from an architect or builder, bring them to your consultation.
What should I prepare for my design consultation?
Plans from your architect or builder if you have them, photos of your current space, a list of the appliances you have chosen or are considering, and inspiration photos of kitchens you love. That way we can start planning from the very first meeting.
Why do I need to know my appliance models in advance?
Because the cabinets are designed around your appliances. Exact dimensions for every appliance ensure a perfect fit, especially with panel-ready models.
